hello biders gord and dave, you can add 2 more species to the list. found two savannah sparrows today on a farm on angus campbell rd. on the way home, around the corner of tolmie rd and campbell rd, in a huge flock of blackbirds were 3 brown-headed cowbirds. i searched hard for a rusty, as this flock is 350 strong, but no luck. Also, of note there was 156 bald eagles and about 300 trumpeter swans in various spots around sumas prairie; along with thousands and thousands of ducks. jason rdyer lake

Can add one more species. Talked to Denis; his wife saw a Ruffed Grouse on the 22nd in their yard. Hope it still counts.

That counts! Thanks Jason. We got 112 for January. Not too bad!

We actually have one more. Several factors result in the late sharing. -I found it on private property (we go back to the difficulty of private land and rare birds) -It wasnt seen since -I needed to examine photos and notes more -I bounced it off some other people Anyway, second winter Slaty-backed Gull late in January! I guess I should have shared sooner if nothing else but to let everyone know there's one in the area. I hope the Iceland Gull helps in the forgiveness!
