On Sept.3 as well as some of the above mentioned birds, I saw: Chipping Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow, Lincoln's Sparrow, Audubon's Y.R. Warbler, and Swainson's Thrush.
These were along the Fraser at McDonald Bar.

This morning Sept 4, I relocated one of the Catbirds along the slough but I see it is already on the September list. Where was that bird found?

Murray, glad you found them! I was hoping you would! The catbird on the list was one I found at Island 22 today along with a couple other goodies. When I get back I hope to have a report to share.

From a very soggy hike up Mt Cheam today, you can add White-tailed Ptarmigan (congratulations, Ted, on this lifer), Sooty Grouse and American Pipit to the September list.

From the last 2 days...
Spotted Sandpiper, Bald Eagle, Barn Owl, Black-headed Grosbeak, and Myrtles Yellow-rumped Warblers.

Although I saw hundreds of birds this morning Sept.7th, there were relatively few species. The Barn and V.G.Swallows alone were in the two to three hundred range.
Two of the species I don't see on the list were:

Red-tailed Hawk and American Kestrel

They were both involved in a "dust up" with a Peregrine.

Interestingly, no one got hurt and it actually looked as if they were playing!

Walking Bridge Rd. along the river this morning a saw a very white gull!!! Glacous Gull ;D Very pure, full breeding colour. Good size, comparible to Glacous-winged that flew by just a few minutes before.

I saw my first Ruby-crowned Kinglets of the fall at Island 22.

Kev, a very good sighting!! Great eye. I might say that it is extremely early to see a Glaucous Gull or any other rarity had there not been some around here in the middle of May so there is no reason why you havnt seen one in early fall. However, one thing to double check on is if it is a albino or partially albino Glaucous-winged. I have had them catch my eye before even though they are not common. See if the back is light grey, wingtips pure white and if possible, a yellow eye. Hope Im not coming across negative or anything! You might have seen some of these field marks too that I mentioned.

Excellent on the Lewis's Hanging around still too!!
