August 2021 Monthly Challenge

Fall migration increases throughout the month of August. Shorebirds will continue to make their way through our region. Harrison Lake and even the turf farms in Sumas Prairie can offer a great opportunity to see them. The migration of songbirds will increase as the month progresses. Great Blue Heron Reserve and Island 22 are reliable locations to see migrating songbirds.

Backyard- Bewicks Wren and Red-breasted Nuthatch
End of Gladwin at Matsqui Trail Park- Orange-crowned Warbler, Black-throated Gray Warblers, Bushtits, a pair of young Spotted Sandpipers and the Ospreys are still at the eastern end of the park.
