Yesterday on Sumas Pairie beside the dyke - I spotted my first Orange-crowned warbler and thought this was the same... And now thinking it's different.. Thanks Attachments:

Flycatchers weren't even in my world 4 months ago.... Now I see them all over the place. I still am challenged about iD - this dear one sat for over 15 mins and showed me ever possible pose! Bill seems rather long for a Hammonds, definitely has dark tip, eye-ring looks tear-drop to me - thanks again

Thanks - and next time I'll be more careful about spelling Pewee!

And I wasn't very clear.... These were also taken on my walk on Wednesday on the Matsqui Trail near Page Road.

Having just read post re: flycatchers on Matsqui Trail, I thought I should maybe check out if identified correctly. Here are 2 pics and I assumed they were both Western Wood-Peewee? Now wondering if one is Olive-sided Flycatcher. Thanks much. Attachments:

Enjoyed the video and the music! I saw a young Green Heron at Willband the other day and enjoyed watching it for about 20 mins. Attachments:

Captured this wonderful bird as it landed right in front of me - I managed 2 quick pics and then it flew off... I heard no call. I am unsure if Willow Flycatcher or Western Wood Peewee (I was even wondering if Gray Flycatcher and that is out of range). I ventured off the dyke and took a wee stroll through the woods out near Chilliwack. Attachments:

I was pretty excited to capture this Great Horned Owl in the middle of the day - I was in Ladner and was biking along the dyke on my way to the Deas Slough. I watched it for about 30 mins - not so much because it was doing anything but because of all the other birds that seemed to be "checking" it out. I saw House Finch, American Goldfinch, Downy Woodpecker, Chickadees, Anna's Hummingbird, Red-Winged Blackbirds, Wren (not sure if Bewick's or Marsh), Brown Creeper and Robins - and Northern Flicker and Cedar Waxwings landed in a tall tree behind it - all from the one spot I was standing, peering between the trees and bushes to see the owl. A very entertaining 30 mins. The owl was still there 2 hours later when I was on my way back from the slough. It had turned around and wide awake - and then it also "yawned" or....? It also had a very good look at me! Attachments:

Thanks much - I did not even think it could be what you suggested so I am happy I asked. In the last few months I have now seen 6 ifferent warblers - quite something considering I didn't even know about warblers less than a year ago! And when you say worn, do you mean "old" - I did think it looked rather rumbled and wasn't sure if it had just had a bath or really needed one.

I seem to need a lot of help! This one landed right above me. I have no idea and have researched endlessly (I didn't want to ask for help since I seem to need that often...). I appreciate the support as I am learning. Attachments:

I think the markings on the wing say otherwise.... And I did post a picture of a grayish bird a few weeks prior and it was offered that it was a young Swainson's thrush too and they look very different to me.... (And what do I know... So new at this... . Thanks - Gabi
