I have never seen a Western Tanager up close so imagine my delight when one landed on the cedar tree in my backyard on Monday morning and hung around for about 20 mins. Attachments:

I see them pretty well daily = at least 3-4 of them in my back yard. Live on Sumas Mountain.

This bird was on the path at Campbell Valley park - I have not seen before and the only guess I have is that it is a juvenile Spotted Towhee? Please confirm. Thanks Attachments:

Okay - a tad confused... is the first pic I sent a longbilled dowitcher? It seemed to small to me. Here is another pic of what I thought was a long-billed dowitcher with a spotted sandpiper...Pic not so good because too far away. The pic I send intially looks somewhat the same but it seemed quite a bit smaller - in fact when it flew across the water towards me and landed about 10 feet away from me, I expected to see some kind of small sandpiper and instead saw this (first pic). Hi - yesterday at Willband Creek. First time seen for me.... only saw this one briefly....smallish bird. One pic and then off it flew across the water. Also saw my first Spotted Sandpiper and I think a Long-bill Dowitcher.... and also quite far away. Attachments:

My first Rufus female showed up on the 13th. Still a couple of Anna's males. Young Anna's will be here soon. DaveP Same story for me.... 4 Anna's all winter. First Rufous noticed on Mar. 24th... I have one little Rufous fiercely defending the feeder.... I am seeing a few Anna's and way less activity right now.

Sorry - I seem to be posting alot and asking for support frequently! So appreicated. I saw this bird soaring overhead (near Whatcom Road - Sumas Mountain) with a turkey vulture and only got this one shot.... any clue what kind of bird or is this also a turkey vulture from the top view? (I assumed a hawk initially ....) Attachments:
