Anyone interested in helping cleaning up the garbage dumped along the Chilliwack Vedder River the Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Coalition is holding their first cleanup for 2006.
It will be held this Saturday, January 14 with registration starting at 9 a. m. at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve. Coffee and donuts provided. The cleanup usually ends by noon. All are welcome
A chance to do a little bird watching at the same time. ;D ;D

A very quality cause to participate in, and, as mentioned, a chance to do a little birding while collecting litter.

We had a very successful cleanup with about 125 volunteers and directors taking part. The volunteers picked up 2.58 tonnes of garbage.
Thanks to 2:40 from this forum who along with one of his sons took part.

BC Rivers Day is on Sept 24. The morning will consist of volunteering cleaning a section of the Chilliwack/Vedder River followed by refreshments, displays and free prize draws. A great chance to help the environment, and you never know what you'll see wildlife wise while you're there!
