Late this afternoon- around 3pm , a Red-tailed hawk attacked two feral roosters that have been living in and around our property for the last year. There was a patch of feathers in our front yard and when we heard the commotion, we ran outside just as it was attacking for a second time in the back yard. The guys survived the attack and the hawk eventually flew off.
Has anyone heard of a Red-tailed hawk attacking birds this large?

Wow! Must have been quite the sight!
The largest bird Ive seen a red-tail catch is a crow. They seem to prefer the mice but Im sure they have and are capable of taking on something much larger.
