Took a stroll down the Harrison from the Kilby Park area to the confluence of the Fraser this afternoon. The weather and viewing conditions were ideal. As expected, there were loads of L. Scaup and C. Goldeneye along the edge of the river now that the boat traffic has practically ceased. Also good numbers of Bufflehead and a few C. Mergansers. I always love to see the Canvasbacks that congregate here each winter and today I counted around 70 birds. Right where the two rivers meet were 3 Pacific Loons, another fairly dependable winter visitor I have found. On the way home I counted 74 Trumpeter Swans in the Agassiz Agricultural Centre corn stubble fields. All in all, a great day. Murray Brown, Agassiz

Good sightings, especially the Pacific Loons! Wow! Is three high, average or low? That area is such a great birdy place.
