Hi All: This afternoon, Murray Brown and I had a look around for the juvenile White morph Gyrfalcon that Janne reported from the weekend. We started off at Watson Elem. School on Watson in Chilliwack, ( its previously reported location ). As a former school prinicpal, I encourage anyone looking here, during school time, to go into the office, and get a visitors' pass. In any event, no Gyr here. We then looked around the adjoining fields out to the heron reserve. We decided to look around the reserve while we were there. Highlight birds were a Bewick's Wren, Golden crowned Kinglet, and 6 plus Double Crested Cormorants, along with a few Great Blue Herons, of course. This site is increasingly becoming a birdy habitat, with rehabilitation work continuing, as well as, possibly new land acquisition. On the way home, I checked the fields south of the Transcanada. Twenty three Trumpeters were observed in a field west of Banford.

Hi all: I didn't sign the post, as I was trying to post a poor image of a Hooded Meraganser, and hit the wrong button. I will try again. Cheers, Thor Thor Manson Hope, B.C.

This is a thank-you to Thor and Murray for looking for the Gyrfalcon, on behalf of those stuck at work during daylight hours.
