Yes, those are awesome! I've only seen a Varied Thrush waaaaay up high in a tree, and I've not seen a wild owl yet - it's top on my list of things to try for!

Roy, your flicker pictures are incredible. I love the first flight shot of the Great Grey Owl. Some of the other bird shots are so crisp with uncluttered backgrounds. Nice work.

Yes, those are awesome! I've only seen a Varied Thrush waaaaay up high in a tree, and I've not seen a wild owl yet - it's top on my list of things to try for! Becke: Are you referring to the Varied Thrush we saw with Ken last weekend? It wasn't thaaaaat high. The biggest problem, being almost right underneath it (and still sitting in Ken's car) was that we saw mostly belly, legs and tail. Roy: All of the GGO pictures are really nice. I hope it performs like that if I go looking for it. (It would be a lifer for me.)

I used a Nikon D4, a Nikkor 500mm Lens and Gitzo tripod.
