Hi- Managed to get out for the afternoon for a little birding- Fist had a look at page road for the ivory, no luck. Although still a few large flocks of gulls. Went over to Willband ponds. They were stuffed full of ducks- lots of mallards/wigeons/canada geese/common mergansers/hoody mergansers/pintails/green-winged teal/ring-necked duck/pied grebe. May of been other types- but i negected to bring a scope. One interesting item- the resident bald eagle was carrying sticks to her nest across the hwy. You would think with the feast of salmon up the harrison she would be their.

Hi Cliff and others, I met you the other day looking for the Ivory Gull. The bird feeder I got from your store is working fine. I am starting to get out more now that our move to Abbotsford is pretty well complete. Checked out the Willband Ponds also, on a beautiful day, and not much to add to Cliffs report. Saw the Eagle and nest. Will have to keep an eye on that. This dark phased Red-tailed Hawk was here last time I checked too, so it must be resident. See you in the field Len Jellicoe Abbotsford

Hi Len, didnt know you were moving out this way. Welcome to the area. Good to have another set of eyes! I think things like Ivory Gulls are missed out this way more than we think. Well, maybe not mega things like Ivory Gulls but lots of pretty good stuff!
Nice pic of the hawk. Makes one look twice!
