Gord, I hadn't thought of it until I read Deb's post, but on Nov. 7th on the Harrison River right at daylight were 19 DCCO. We were there before daylight waiting for it to get light enough to start fishing. As the sky lightened we realized that all these big web-footed birds had been perched on the overhead wires throughout the night. As it became brighter they took off in two's and three's. This was a repeat of a few days earlier as well. Although fewer birds the first time. This line runs right across the river just south of the highway bridge. Quite a way to spend one's night!
