I spotted a bird yesterday, south of the recreation facility in Agassiz that I suspected was a Shrike, but I couldn't get on it before it flew. It appeared too dark to be a typical bird, So back today, and after a half hour search I relocated it. It turned out to be a very greyish brown juvenile Northern. It's possible it may stay long enough to be counted in the xmas bird count as they sometimes stay in one location throughout the winter. Another bird that might also be included is a Kestrel that seems to have settled in a few km. west of town on hwy. 7
