Hi, all.
Today at Willband ponds on Bateman Rd in Abbotsford, there were large numbers of waterfowl with a good variety of species. Best species was an adult male Redhead.
On Tuesday there were also lots of waterfowl, including a first-year male Redhead, and a male Eurasian Wigeon that was either an immature or had some American Wigeon genes (showed some rusty smudges on its sides).
Small flocks of American Pipits were around both days.
At Mill Lake in Abbotsford there are one or two Cackling Geese around with the Canada Geese, and an Egyptian Goose (probably the one that was there last winter is back again). This is not a wild bird but rather an escaped bird from someone's collection, undoubtedly.
The numbers of Double-crested Cormorants at both locations are increasing.
