I have put this question in a "new" thread as I have lost all the information I previously had from all the very helpful members here with regards to the best (colour that -within my $500.00 budget) camera that I can get--I have "tentatively" ordered a PowerShot S3 IS 6.0MP Mega-Zoom Digital Camera. I am wondering if I canget some feedback about my choice, please?--Al-- (Canon)

Al, not a bad camera at all in that family of cameras. I think it's a new model from what DB has, and he's produced great images with his. Here is the thread where the camera discussion I think you speak of took place. Camera discussion

Gord, I found the thread where Kathy's advice appears--it is under water ouzels, where I asked for advice about a camera, after reading it again, I feel that what I have ordered comes close to what she had suggested, however a different brand name--perhaps Kathy could comment on my choice?--Al (thanks)

Al, You have ordered a great camera for taking casual pictures of birds. I am very happy with my Canon S2, and yours is one step up, so I am excited to see your "high class" results. No need to change your order, it does a great job at taking pictures, including small birds at your feeder/in your yard. One thing you definitely will need to learn is how to post your feeder pictures on this website, to keep us all updated with your sightings! Dave, Great pictures! I think I shall have to re-learn how to operate a camera first! I expect that when I do learn, and begin to post what I have , many of the members may very well take a poll to have me removed from the premises for taking too much room here! ;D ;D If my results are half as good as what you have posted here, I shall be very pleased indeed!--Al
