Hi All,
My buddy & I made the trip out to Island 22 this morning to see what was drawing all the great birds and birders. We were both impressed with the area and it's possiblities.
We didn't see any rarities but lots of birds were about. Both him and I have been wanting to bird out the valley rather than the Vancouver hotspots for a change. I can see this will be a must visit area in the future. Hopefully we will bump into a birder or 2 on our visits. It would be nice to get a heads up on the best places to look in the area.
Hopefully browsing this site will enable us to find a few more valley areas to spend some birding time exploring.

Hi Larry,
I don't know how far afield you want to venture, but I moved to Agassiz recently and am quite impressed with the amount of birding habitat I'm finding in this area. If ypu want to hook up one day get in touch. My contact info is available on the BCFO membership list.

Hi Murray,
Any distance within an 45 minutes or so of Pitt Meadows. That's about how long it takes to get to BB or Reifel from Pitt Meadows depending on traffic.
I'll take you up your offer some time soon.
Larry

Hi Larry, good to hear you came out our way and enjoyed Island 22.
Hope you can join in on some walks once more get going. There should also be detailed site guide going up on Island 22 once the FVB website starts to get updated once again 'soon'.
I expect there will also be more guides to local birdy areas as well. Many of them wont have a lot of bird sightings to go with them, but at least there will be ideas of birdy looking locations that one can visit and start filling in that gap. I know even just in Chilliwack Ive been noticing little city trails and so forth that Ive never paid much attention to in the past. These little areas can be gold mines!
