Today there was a female and male Red-breasted Merganser out on Harrison Lake. I wonder if it's the same two that I found earlier in the month. A bit of an odd sighting for a species that does not breed around here. They must be taking the year off as it's a bit late to get up north and start laying eggs!
In the lagoon was a lone male Gadwall among the Canada Geese. Friday there were two male and a female Cinnamon Teal in the lagoon. They always look a bit out of place in open areas like that. I seem to think of them more of a shallow-pond-with-plenty-of-vegetation-nearby kind of species.
