Last couple days have been great. A lot of vireos bombing around but also a few warblers. Island 22, while just barely tolerable mosquito wise, is very active with birds. Cheam Lake has been ok but the mosquitos are basically gone which makes it very good. The bear was there yesterday too. Today while I was there, I watched a sora swim about 5 feet from one patch of reeds to another. Sadly, no pictures! Still lots of eastern kingbirds around and the waterfowl are just starting to pick up. I will post pictures later. Also, there was one and maybe two first summer purple martins near the boxes at Dewdeny today just east of Mission. They're probably checking out for nesting next year (probably did not nest this season).

Here are the pictures I was hinting at from Cheam Lake last week. (I was in the truck for both!)
