First stop, White Rock. Good numbers of White-winged and Surf Scoters. There were three Long-tailed Ducks just a little east of the pier. I saw two Red-throated Loons as well. White-winged Scoter Long-tailed Duck Next stop was 104th, Boundary Bay. The tide was in and there were tons of Dunlin and a decent amount of Black-bellied Plovers. Lots of Pintails, Wigeons and Mallards. I then went to 72nd. Bumped into John Vooys, John it was nice to see you again. The Short-eared Owls put on quite a show. One was eating a vole at one point. Just west of 72nd was an American Tree Sparrow. Still lots of YR Warblers in the area. AT Sparrow Stopped in at 64th. Took me a while but I finally managed to see the Sage Thrasher. Only my second one and neither one has been in the Okanagan. Snowy Owls on top of a building Sage Thrasher Was going to go to Point Roberts but went to Reifel instead. The highlight was a Northern Goshawk. There was also a Barred Owl. Shovelers Mallard

Great photos Chris. That little Thrasher looks good. Hope it survives the winter! Good birding, John Vooys, Abbotsford.

Hi Chris: About a week and a half ago, John Morgan and I went to Reifel and were told at one point that a gentleman in front of us had just seen a Northern Goshawk. We missed it that day. I'm glad you got it. Also, at what time and where are you spotting the Red-throated loon? Are you using your scope when you see it? Both birds would be Lifers.

Damion it was early in the morning with the loons. I was using my scope and a scope would be needed.
