This morning my dear wife saw a Clark's Nutcracker horsing around on the little feeder out the back window. It was not there very long, but long enough for the non-birder to identify the bird she sees at Manning Park every year. While not a rarity past Hope, they are of note even up in the mountains around here. I have seen one up Cheam Ridge in 2006, and had one at Cheam Lake a few years earlier digging in the leaves at the side of the road. There is also a record from downtown Chilliwack and one near Seabird Island along the highway in recent years.

That is a wonderful bird for a feeder in our area. Wouldn't mind it coming to our feeder Gord! Nice to see that your wife caught sight of it. Good work.
