Hey everyone, I managed to sneak out this morning for about 45 minutes but had to significantly limit my walk due to rain. I was hoping to cover the west part of the floodplain today to log some non-water birds (kinglets, downy woodpeckers, creepers, etc.). Regardless, the time I spent between the marsh and the lagoon was pretty successful and I gathered 34 species. A highlight was a northern harrier cruising over the marsh looking for breakfast. I logged a new Brydon species today - a female ruddy duck. This is species #104 for me at Brydon. There were no canvasbacks present today unfortunately, but hopefully one or more become regulars. Here's my complete list: Canada Goose 3 Wood Duck 2 Gadwall 6 American Wigeon 1 Mallard 30 Northern Shoveler 1 Northern Pintail 1 Green-winged Teal 50 Common Goldeneye 1 Hooded Merganser 1 Common Merganser 7 Ruddy Duck 1 Pied-billed Grebe 1 Great Blue Heron 1 Northern Harrier 1 Bald Eagle 2 American Coot 3 Long-billed Dowitcher 15 Glaucous-winged Gull 3 Belted Kingfisher 1 Northern Flicker 2 Steller's Jay 2 Northwestern Crow 4 Black-capped Chickadee 3 American Robin 1 European Starling 1 Spotted Towhee 2 Fox Sparrow 1 Song Sparrow 4 Golden-crowned Sparrow 6 Dark-eyed Junco 3 House Finch 5 Pine Siskin 1 House Sparrow 4
