Saw Gords post this morning so headed out there. Arriving at 11 I went to the same spot I saw the Rosy-finch's last year and within a minute I had one one. A very cooperative little guy. Lapland Longspur - Harrison Lagoon by Peppar Photos, on Flickr Lapland Longspur Harrison Lagoon Oct 25-12 by Peppar Photos, on Flickr The location was the walkway from the east end of the lagoon parking which goes to the lagoon loop. He was in the rocks on the left. He was there for about 5 min the was distured by a few dog walkers in the path. Len and his wife came by but the bird did no show again while I was there. Two Mergansers were in the Lagoon and they could have been red-throated but were to far out for an id. DaveP

I also was 'spurred' on by Gord's posting and my wife and I took advantage of the weather and took our lunch out to Harrison with the dog and went huntin'. I had given up and we were heading back along the outer path, and the Longspur landed on a rock just beside us. I was able to get a few shots off but he wouldn't come out of the grass long enough for an unobstructed shot. Still happy with the lifer. Kudo's to Dave and Gord for the great captures. I hope Len had some luck too! Our timings were just off a hair for a 'group meet'. I will try to get back into the swing and get to posting more regularly.

Dave, awesome pictures, glad you saw it. Hopefully it sticks around for the weekend. Snow Buntings could arrive any day now too.
Ian, I might be the only one but I can't view your pictures.

Sorry about that Chris, the problem was at my end as I linked incorrectly and it showed properly on my computer only. Thanks for pointing it out or I would never have known!

No worries Ian. It was a bonus because after I posted that I went to your site to view them. I enjoyed looking through your pictures.
You, Dave and Gord managed to get fantastic photos of this individual.

Gord-you are getting some nice birds. Thanks for the tip on Harrison. We did manage to relocate the Longspur. Thanks to Dave letting us know it was still in the area. Sorry we missed you Ian. The Longspur was quite approachable and it was neat watching it zip through the seeds on the grass stems. We checked in on the Rustys on the way home with no luck also.
