Hi:
I just read on the Birding In British Columbia website that 2 juvenile Green Herons were spotted at Piper's Pier, Burnaby Lake Regional Park, on September 18/12. I guess they're around! I'll have to get out there. I know it's no guarantee I'll see them.

We were there yesterday, and yes, there were 2 green herons. One quite close by the beaver dam right off the spit. At first it was half hidden round the side, and we wouldn't have seen it if others hadn't told us where to look. We went for a hot slog round the whole park, and a couple of hours later checked back, and there it was showing off on the pylon and then flying over to the extensive lily pads to do some hunting The other one was more in the distance, and for us difficult to tell whether a juvenile: Well worth a visit.
