hello birders myself and denis knopp went out to the coast today to meet up with mike and sharon toochin to see what we could see. we started the day at reifel bird sanctuary at 10:30 but didn't stay long as not much was going on. after lunch we went to boundary bay at about 1:30. we parked at 104th and walked towards the mansion. on our walk to the mansion we encountered 2 stilt sandpipers and the sharp-tailed sandpiper amongst other shorebirds. at the mansion denis spotted the reeve with lesser and greater yellowlegs and other shorebirds and ducks. on our way back to the cars at 104th we encountered dave beeke checking out the shorebirds at the pilings. good to see you, dave! after spending some time relocating the reeve and stilt sandpipers here we moved on to the turf fields at 72nd to try to find the buff-breasted sandpiper. no luck on that one; but a great day to be out with good friends. hopefully dave will post some of his pictures. happy birding, jason osterhold

Thanks for the report Jason. Good success too with only missing the Buff-breasted.
