This morning, before it really started to pour, we observed a mature Bald eagle harrassing a Double-crested cormorant on the Fraser River near the mouth of Silver Creek. Couldn't tell if the cormorant had a fish or not but it finally dove underneath the water to escape the eagle who then circled for awhile before giving up. Also, observed a flock of two dozen or more Yellow-rumped warblers flying around the Big Leaf maples in the riparian area along our bank and one kestrel. One golden-crowned sparrow amongst a sea of very hungry backyard regulars. Once the rain started, even a hummingbird was seeking shelter on our windowsill.
