Saw warblers moving through the big maples in the back yard this morning - Yellow Rumped mostly --until I got a good view of one feeding with a sort of creeper like movement along a large branch . It had a black and white striped head with a white crown stripe, black throat and heavily streaked chest and generally black and white all over. I'm 100% sure it was indeed a Black and White Warbler.

Mac: Great backyard bird; actually a great bird to find anywhere west of the Rockies. Some of us, ( me, for intstance ), have had to travel all the way the Peace District to see this bird in B.C. I think some of your recent sightings have confirmed that the Hope Airport in general is an accessible piece of an important migratory track. Cheers, Thor

Mac, once again well done on a great species! Your description of behaviour and field marks makes me agree you are 100% bang on. NICE!! I believe this is the first solid record for our area.
Thor, I think you said it perfectly in the Hope Airport site guide about it being a trap for these birds. With this awful weather of late, things are hunkering down until the weather breaks.
