Hello all, Drove out to Nicomen Island on Friday eve. - not even a birding trip, but sure glad that I brought my camera!! First sighting, along the Slough, sitting on a piling near the Martin boxes was a beautiful Osprey, then, nearby, we spotted a Kestrel perched on a post. Along Nicomen Island Truck Road waterway (ditch) were two male Green-winged Teal, a male Cinnamon Teal & quite a few females??, some Bufflehead and finally, perched on a fence wire, what I am sure was a Townsend's Solitaire. All over grey in appearance, with darker wings & longer notched tail, eye ring, white outside tail feathers and maybe a bit smaller than a Robin and more slender. It was so far away, that I wasn't sure what it was - that merits a picture attempt for sure! Zooming in, I realized how lucky I was. Very satisfying trip. Cheers, Pat
