Hi Birders A great day at Hope Airport for me! As a recent immigrant to Canada from Scotland most of the birds here are absolutely new to me so every day can bring a lifer! Today was no exception - Townsend's Solitaire (confirmed by Jack Delaire) and then a bonny wee male Caliope Hummer at the feeder. The lovely magenta coloured throat doesn 't show well - it was pretty late in the day so the light wasn't good.

Nice stuff Mac and congrats on the lifers! I might venture to say that's a nice earlier record for a Calliope hummer too. Certainly one worth noting! The picture leaves no doubt.

Mac: That Calliope is a great sighting for Hope. I am not aware of any other sightings of one in the Hope area, until you get up to Boston Bar. Congratulations. Thor
