If anyone is interested there is a least flycatcher calling at the wetlands. It's on the loop trail just near the first bridge near the small pond.

I took a video of the bird calling with my phone. The last breeding record of this species at Cheam Wetlands would be in 2009 (as far as I know). Given the time of year and behaviour I am fairly certain they are on territory. I believe there were two of them but I could be wrong. There was also an Olive-sided Flycatcher calling as well. I have heard it calling now for about three weeks in the same location. Safe to say they are breeding at the wetlands. Typically this is a species that breed at high elevations so this is kind of cool. You can hear the flycatcher calling at the 4 second mark of the video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lhG38-CPr8&feature=plcp

Nice find Chris,
I'm off to Saskatoon on Thursday for two weeks and I'm looking forward to hearing these little guys there again.

Chris, good bird(s) there! Good documentation. They must have recently arrived which is not odd as they've been known to come late June in the past. 2009 is the last breeding record for them although I think we've had one or two pass through most of the years leading up to this one.
The Olive-sided Flycatchers must be breeding. Good record for the park.
