Yesterday late afternoon I went for a walk around Brydon and was pleasantly surprised to find another green heron in the NW corner of the lagoon. Unfortunately it was not present about 1 hour later when I returned, although Rocky saw it in the evening in pouring rain. I'm hoping it decides to become fairly regular. It was too far away to get a good picture but here's some proof anyway
Otherwise it wasn't overly audibly active but I still managed to pick up 34 species. Another highlight was three kingfishers (2 adults and 1 immature?) hunting, also in the NW corner and perching on the power lines.
It was nice to see two young in the eagle nest. Here's another poor picture. The lighting was terrible:

Today I decided to make a trip to Grant Narrows. I had two species on my list that I hoped to see there, Bullock's Oriole and black swift. I managed to get both, which were lifers. I would have liked to see a male oriole, but just got a female. I'm not complaining though . I tallied 37 species over about 3 hours. Here are a few pics:
