This morning, saw this awesome Eurasian Collared Dove under our feeder in the backyard eating seed on the ground. Would you believe a squirrel arrived shortly after and spooked it before I could grab the camera. We watched it fly into our large front yard Christmas tree joined by another! A Pair. We watched them fly off and are hoping they return for a photo op.! (We live at Knight Rd and Sapphire Drive in Sardis.)

They've really moved into the city here in Chilliwack this year. I'm seeing them throughout Sardis now, and a few right downtown too. It's been really interesting to watch this alien invasion over the last few years. I hope they come in peace!

We have them in our neighbourhood for the first time, in East Abbotsford.

Hmmm Coming is peace.... Anyone know how to keep them from "cooing" day in and night? I have them all around my house in Sardis and the endless repetition is driving me batty. I know, I know ... birders are supposed to love birdie sounds but ..... I would gladly share these nice birds with someone else.
