Some people I know were watching the feeders in the backyard and saw a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak visit them yesterday afternoon. They have not seen it since but are watching and have camera closer at hand. This was from Promontory and is the fifth record for the species in the area if my brain is working right this late at night.
They will let me know if they see it again

This is the fourth consecutive year of one being reported in our area. I believe this is our sixth record for this species in our area. One was at Sumallo Grove a few years ago, another was near Nahatlatch and then one in 2010, and two sightings last year.
This species breed very far away from our region so kind of weird how we have been reported them relatively consistently.

A picture that was captured through a window in a rainstorm of the bird; nicely done Diane! What a beaut! It has not returned since however.
