I woke up this morning and saw that a green heron was reported yesterday afternoon at Brydon so I quickly got up and headed out to try and find it. I was lucky and saw it on the north side of the lagoon. It was quite far away so I tried to proceed west to a better vantage point but it was gone by the time I got there. Hopefully it returns.
It was just a quick outing, less than an hour and I didn't venture beyond the lagoon and the marsh. The blue-winged teal were still present with 2 on the lagoon and 2 on the marsh. A FOY for me was a greater yellowlegs on the marsh. Also a couple spotted sandpipers present.
Here's my list:
Canada Goose 5 Gadwall 1 Mallard 30 Blue-winged Teal 4 Hooded Merganser 1 Pied-billed Grebe 1 Green Heron 1 Spotted Sandpiper 2 Greater Yellowlegs 1 Belted Kingfisher 1 Northwestern Crow 6 Northern Rough-winged Swallow 3 Tree Swallow 1 Violet-green Swallow 8 Barn Swallow 8 Black-capped Chickadee 1 Bushtit 3 Marsh Wren 1 Swainson's Thrush 1 American Robin 1 European Starling 3 Cedar Waxwing 2 Common Yellowthroat 3 Yellow Warbler 2 Spotted Towhee 4 Song Sparrow 4 Red-winged Blackbird 10 House Finch 6 House Sparrow 10
