Hi everyone, I went out for a quick walk after work today and there were two blue-winged teal on the lagoon. These seem to be infrequent in the area and I've never seen them on the lagoon so I thought I would report it. Feel free to delete this post if it's completely useless!

Blue-winged Teal can be hard to see in the region. Your Brydon Lagoon list must be growing quite a bit now.

Never a useless posting! We are always interested in reports of any bird anywhere.
Nice sighting as well. Blue-winged Teal are not common at all.

Thanks guys! Chris, to respond to your comment, the BW teals were the 90th species for me at Brydon.

Hi Damion,
It's just west of 200th at 53rd. Turn west on 53rd and then on your left a couple blocks down there will be a place to park and you will see the floodplain. The marsh is right there and if you follow the main path west it will take you to the lagoon and subsequently another bluff of trees where the eagle's nest is. If you go south after the lagoon it will take you over a bridge, which crosses the Nicomekl River and then to Colebrook Road. Directly on the other side of Colebrook road is High Knoll Park, where I have had pretty good luck with warblers, flycatchers, tanagers, etc.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Randy
