Hi Fraser Valley Birders. This morning was pretty good along the Sucker Creek Trail, ( aka the Trans Canada Trail ), from the parking lot to the new subdivision; ( approx 1 km ). Near the parking lot, in a usual roosting/foraging spot, was a small flock of EVENING GROSBEAK. Further along was a RUBY CROWNED KINGLET, a DOWNY WOODPECKER, a few PINE SISKIN, and a fos, AUDUBON'S WARLBER. Over on the marsh/pond, were two pair of WOOD DUCKS, with chicks, many RED WINGED BLACKBIRDS, a brilliant COMMON GOLDENEYE, nesting CANADA GEESE, and a GREAT BLUE HERON. In comparison, the airport seemed quite quiet, when I was there this afternoon. Finally, some good weather!! Cheers, Thor

That's an early nest of wood ducks! How old do you figure the little ones were and how many?
I was looking at the area in mid March and saw the wood ducks and was thinking about putting up a couple boxes for them (which I didnt get to doing) but looks like they found something!
