Saw my first turkey vultures today out on Interprovincial Hwy in Abbotsford. There were 4 of them in a field feeding on something.
Later in the afternoon Jamie and I went to check on Sardis Pond's birds and playground. There was a single greater white-fronted goose there and 4 bushtits building a nest on one of the properties. Those were the highlights of our short visit. The rest we saw were as follows:
Greater White-fronted Goose 1 Canada Goose 20 American Wigeon 20 Mallard 45 Northern Shoveler 2 Green-winged Teal 1 Ring-necked Duck 6 Lesser Scaup 12 Bufflehead 3 Common Merganser 1 American Coot 30 Glaucous-winged Gull 1 Downy Woodpecker 1 Northwestern Crow 3 Bushtit 4 American Robin 3 Song Sparrow 1 Red-winged Blackbird 2 House Finch 4 Pine Siskin 8 House Sparrow 2
