A couple of weeks ago driving by the Royalwood Golf course here in Greendale I spotted a robin with a nearly pure white head with a couple of specks of white on each of its wings. Of course I did not have a camera with me. Not sure if anyone else has seem a robin like this.

I'm assuming it looked like this picture of a leucistic robin? www.flickr.com/photos/boubou64/512022848/I've learned about these only recently thanks to the folks on the forum. Saw a leucistic junco at serpentine fen a while back and currently have a leucistic sparrow - likely song sparrow in my yard. Randy - Langley

American Robins are one of the more commonly leucistic birds. I have seen several over the years.

The one I saw just had a white head with a small patch of white on each wing.

hey all. i've worked at Royalwood for 11 years and have never made it out of the kitchen to photograph this bird.... but i do know that this Robin has been back in the same spot for the past 5 years, right around the 9th & 10th holes, pretty amazing that it's survived this long being such a big target for predators. it's always nice in the spring to hear from the members that it has returned.
