Hi Birders 4.15pm today on the south side of the Hope Airpark (Flood Hope Road) a Northern Shrike (I think!) hunting in the grass at the edge of the runway. The reason I'm saying 'I think' is that I couldn't make out it's bill colour due to the rain and poor visibility. Nevertheless good views of it hovering and diving into the grass after something. Hopefully it might still be around tomorrow and Thor can confirm or otherwise or I might even be able to get a better view myself. Also a nice male Belted Kingfisher on the Slough between the old Interfor base and Bristol Island

Hi FV Birders Just to confirm that we do have a Northern Shrike hunting up and down the south side of Hope Airpark. Good views of it confirms the pale base to the bill. The Mountain Bluebirds were also around but I failed yet again to find Say's Pheobe
