It was the irruption of winter 05/06 that first got Karen interested in birding. Indeed these kind of events really bring out new people. She planned to sit out this current irruption but a friend from Seattle really wanted to come up to see them so she joined up with the hordes. The birds were very accommodating and thus the photographers were well behaved. The also went to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary where they saw a Barred Owl - life bird #247 and a few other species. Great shots Karen, looks like saturday morning in the rain. The barred owl was on the same branch sunday too.

These are wonderful captures Karen! Love the wide-eyed Snowy. I wasn't so lucky to get any great poses on my trek down to B.Bay.
