Well I managed to get my father-in-law, mother-in-law, and wife to Boundary Bay to check out the owls. Compared to last time I was there about 1 month ago, there were 3 owls much closer to the dike, all at the edge of the driftwood, providing excellent views and photo-ops from the dike. There were some unfortunately aggressive photographers, a couple of whom were informed by myself and others about their inappropriate proximity to the owls. I'm not sure of the need to approach some of the other owls so closely when these ones could be observed from the dike so well... Anyway, everyone had a great experience. I was ecstatic to see how many families are venturing out to enjoy the owls. Here are a few pictures: I didn't have to much time to look around for other species, but noted two western meadowlarks as well as a number of northern harriers. I didn't see any short-eared owls today. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season!! Randy
