Yesterday there was a Western Scrub-Jay at Neilson Park in Mission. It was around in the cedars west of the parking lot in the same general area as the one I saw last year. Could very well be the same bird.
Out on the lake were at least 5000 Mallards with not a few Northenr Pintails mixed in. About 6 Canvasbacks were there too.

Most likely the same one. I think it's only a matter of time before they start breeding in B.C.

Nice find. Seems like a few birds are expanding their ranges into our region.
