I've got to start coming up with some more original titles I think...There are only so many derivations of a walk around Brydon Lagoon unfortunately Anyway, a couple new arrivals on the lagoon. A number of common mergansers were present and a single DC cormorant. A couple male hooded mergansers brightened things up. Being a new arrival from Saskatchewan, I find these birds fascinating and love seeing them. Additionally, there were 3 bald eagles soaring above - I hadn't seen an eagle here since July. Here are a few pictures (unfortunately none are as crisp as I would like): Hooded mergansers: Common mergansers: It was entertaining to see 1 merganser chase another that had a fish around. Ultimately the cormorant snuck in and pilfered the fish! The two mergansers dejectedly swam away... And my complete list for the day: Cackling Goose 1 Canada Goose 1 American Wigeon 4 Mallard 100 Northern Shoveler 8 Green-winged Teal 10 Hooded Merganser 5 Common Merganser 10 Pied-billed Grebe 4 Double-crested Cormorant 1 Bald Eagle 3 Glaucous-winged Gull 2 Northwestern Crow 1 Black-capped Chickadee 1 Fox Sparrow 1 Song Sparrow 2 Golden-crowned Sparrow 2 Dark-eyed Junco 2 House Sparrow 3 Hope everyone has a great weekend!!
