Cat brought in the rear portion of a squirrel last night, tail was flat and kind of thin + there was skin extending from the upper leg. this cat usually doesn't eat is kill so i suspect an owl did it. We have a long history with flying squirrels as our strange owner built house has a roof with big shingles, bats & things can get under. Years back we had a cat that seemed to have wiped them all out , so it was nice to see one again.

Such cool little animals. Nice to hear they have returned to your area. Due to their nocturnal habits, they're tough to see. Spotted Owls depend, assuming there's still any left in BC, on this mammal as a key prey item.
