Hi all, I am planning to go to the Gulf Islands (Galiano and Mayne) for a couple of days next week, and then the last part of the week to Whistler. Is anybody familiar with the areas for birdwatching? What kinds of birds should I especially look for and whereabouts? For example, Pine Grosbeak would be a nice addition to my list--is it likely up in Whistler? Thanks, --Jeff

Im not at all familiar with that area, Jeff. I know we get pine grosbeaks in similar areas (Hemlock, Skagit, Manning etc) but not sure if they are as common closer to the coast.
Perhaps someone who lives closer to the coast can help.
Either way, I bet you'll see some good birds! Hope the weather's nice, and look forward to a report when you get back.
