We got a couple of record photos of a Black & White Warbler at the GBHNR this morning. It was high up in a Cottonwood on the east side of the left path at the fork of the Salwein Creek Loop. Regards Joanne and Bruce

Fantastic bird! Well done you guys. You've having a great summer out there and migration is just starting! Hope it sticks around but likely will keep moving given the good migrating weather conditions. Fun to find these warblers and other small migrants, but Ive hardly known them to stick around or even be able to see them later on the same day which is a bummer. That being said, fingers crossed others get a look, but if not, great place to walk and any bird is a good bird anyway.

Thanks Gord and Martion. Here is photo number 1 of the Black & White Warbler. Unfortunately, we lost track of it and couldn't relocate it.

Beauty shots guys!! They dont get documented much better than that. I think this is the second record for our checklist area. This morning the kids and I went for a walk. Despite my doom and gloom prediction about the chances of seeing migrating songbirds, I did keep an eye open for it all the same. Met up with Len and Dianne who had also been out for walk. Our visit was cut short due to a police incident. As of 11:30, the park has been closed. Just in case anyone is planning an outing. There was no indication of when it will reopen.

Thanks Gord, we really lucked out with this one, we were trying to photograph a Black-throated Gray Warbler and Wilson's Warbler when it popped into view. We ran into Dave Peppar there this morning. He says Ken Pugh is doing really well. Hi Ken. Nice to see Dave this morning.
