Had a good look at the two horned grebes this afternoon around 4:45, as they were relatively close to the viewing platform. Didn't see the Western, unfortunately. --Jeff

Nice work on the western grebe, John. That is the first record for the park. Cheam Lake was well birded today! As I was leaving, Jeff showed up and went for a walk. Nice score on the two horned grebes! I only spotted the one. I walked to the viewpoint and just a little down the loop trail. I was delighted to see the western grebe; brings the Park's total up to about 177 species. Also of note were a horned grebe, a male redhead and a female ruddy duck.
