I was all excited when I ran across this flock of what I thought were Evening Grosbeaks (which would have been a new bird for us) Upon further review they appear to be American Goldfinches in winter plumage. What are the odds that finding a rarer bird (uncommon vs fairly common) would be a disappointment? Attachments:

You never know the odds when it comes to the birds! Nice photo of a winter plumaged male American Goldfinch there.
The further east you come the more Evening Grosbeaks there are. They seem to have quieted down a little of late, but in Hope I have been seeing several good-sized flocks along Kawkawa Lake Road just after the Coquihalla Bridge. Im confident that going for a little walk along the road will produce for you.
