My wife suggested an outing to Reifel bird sanctuary Sunday May 1st. An absolutely beautiful day. Being new to the birding game I was able to identify many new ones for myself. At Reifel I veiwed and photographed for my records, the following. Northern pintail, Northern shoveler, American widgeon, Gadwall, American Bittern, Greater white fronted goose, Greater scaup, Brown headed cowbird, Tree Swallow, Sandhill crane (with eggs), Killdeer, American Coot, Least Sandpiper, Western Sandpiper, Lesser yellowlegs. These last 3 I was given a great deal of info on by a gentleman with a spotting scope and fantastic knowledge and background on these energetic birds. Today I got to the Serpentine wildlife area in Surrey. I was able to veiw and photograph the following. Savannah and Golden crowned sparrows, Marsh wren (actually no photo there, to quick), and Audobahn and Myrtle Yellow rumped warblers. In all an enjoyable time and lengthening of the personal list. Only drawback is it starts to get harder and harder the more I get on the list right?

Sounds like two great outings. Good eye catching that Bittern, they can be hard to spot.
