Hi there, I moved from Saskatoon to Langley last week and thought I would explore the area I live in and get acquainted with this site. I walked through Brydon Park Preserve, across the Nicomekl river, and through High Knoll park.
The highlight for me was a lifer (being new to the area), which was a male Western Tanager. My brother and I heard at least 1-2 others. Here is the rest of the list from ebird:
Canada Goose 20 Mallard 20 Great Blue Heron 2 Long-billed Dowitcher 9 Belted Kingfisher 1 Western Wood-Pewee 2 (heard only) Willow Flycatcher 1 Pacific-slope Flycatcher 4 (heard only) Northwestern Crow 10 Violet-green Swallow 20 Barn Swallow 5 Black-capped Chickadee 5 Brown Creeper 6 Pacific Wren 3 (heard only) Marsh Wren 5 (heard only) Swainson's Thrush 12 (heard only) American Robin 3 Cedar Waxwing 6 Wilson's Warbler 1 (heard only) Spotted Towhee 8 Song Sparrow 20 Western Tanager 2 (1 seen, at least 1 other heard) Red-winged Blackbird 10 Brown-headed Cowbird 1 House Sparrow 4
Anyway, I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with this board.

Hi Randy, welcome to the province and to the site. Great list of birds there. I might have to check out that area if I'm close by.
