My Dad and I stopped for a very brief look at the Creekside trail in Cheam Wetlands this evening. (we were going out for supper and he wanted to see Black-throated Grey Warblers). In the 25 minutes we were there, we stood about 100 feet in on the Creekside trail (Never made it any farther) The trees were hopping with birds, lots of warblers. Amidst the flurry of birds, we identified:
20+ Black-throated Grey Warblers 2 Townsend's Warblers 4+ Yellow Warblers 3 Wilson's Warblers 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers 1 Orange-crowned Warblers 1 Nashville Warbler 1+ Cassin's Vireo (probably 2 - not sure if it was the same bird) Ruby-crowned Kinglets Black-capped Chickadees Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker Red-naped Sapsucker Stellar's Jay Robin Spotted Towhee
The highlight was Cassin's Vireo, and Nashville + Townsends were good to see again. Too bad we didn't have a couple of hours to give a thorough job.
